This Howard design is largely inspired by vintage memorabilia and apparel from the 1980s, but also features the university’s original bison mascot, who debuted in 1948. Even before 1948, the Bison were well established as a pillar of HBCU football, having earned three of their five claimed Black College National Championships in 1920, 1925, and 1926.
